Coordination of Study Program Accreditation Preparation First Session at FT UNY

UPM FT UNY - On Monday, February 19, 2024, the Faculty of Engineering of Yogyakarta State University (FT UNY) held the first coordination meeting for the preparation of study program accreditation. This activity took place from 08.00 WIB to 09.00 WIB in the 2nd Floor KPLT Conference Room and was attended by 22 participants. This meeting was organized by the Quality Assurance Unit of FT UNY.

Main Points of Discussion:

Dr. Umi Rochayati, M.T., conveyed some important things related to the accreditation schedule and strategy:

  • Accreditation Schedule: S1 Civil Engineering is scheduled on April 14, 2025, Manufacturing on August 10, 2026, and December 29, 2026.
  • Accreditation Options:
    • First Option: Participate in accreditation in 2024 with the hope of improving the status from “good” to “excellent”.
    • Option Two: Postpone accreditation until 2025, with the risk of the accreditation status becoming “unaccredited”, “accredited”, or “excellent”.

  • Lamtek instruments: Follow the accreditation instruments in Lamtek.
  • Automation Mechanism: Accreditation can be extended up to five years at the university level, while for study programs, Lamtek has not yet launched the mechanism.
  • Data Preparation: Started data collection for Lamtek and IABE requirements.

Dean of FT UNY provided input on adequacy simulation:

  • Sufficiency Simulation: Suggested adequacy simulation with Prof. Khair to find out the scores of four pure undergraduate study programs.

Vice Dean of Academic, Student Affairs, and Alumni said:

  • Number of Graduates: Highlighted that if accreditation is done in 2024, the number of graduates will be less.
  • Accreditation Strategy: Delaying accreditation by a year may provide an opportunity to obtain “excellent” status.
  • UPM Coordination: The Quality Assurance Unit will coordinate the preparation of the forms and invite Lamtek and IABE for evaluation.
  • LKPS Target: Proposed a target of completing the Study Program Performance Report (LKPS) in April.
  • Information Technology: Mentioned that the Information Technology Study Program is not included in the scope of Lamtek study programs on the website.

Dr.-Ing. Satoto Endar Nayono, ST., M.Eng., M.Sc. (Res.Eng) emphasized:

  • Focus on International Accreditation: Proposed to focus on international accreditation rather than spending energy on local accreditation.
  • Status of Automated Accreditation: Questioned whether automated accreditation can be applied to study programs, with clarification from Dr. Umi that currently it is only at the university level.
  • Lamtek Indicators: Lamtek will use 15 indicators and verify data through PD Dikti, with no more Field Assessors (AL).
  • Data Cut-off: Data cut-off until August 2024.
  • IABE Invitation: Proposed to invite IABE to assist in the accreditation process.

The meeting was closed with an agreement to continue to monitor and evaluate the strategy for preparing study program accreditation to achieve the best results. This activity is an important step in FT UNY's efforts to improve the quality of education and achieve better accreditation.

Thus, it is expected that all study programs at FT UNY can prepare themselves well and meet the accreditation standards that have been set, for the sake of continuous improvement in the quality of education.
