Coordination of the Preparation of Laboratory and Workshop Standards to prepare a standardized lab / workshop (ISO approach)
Penjamu FT UNY - The Faculty of Engineering of Yogyakarta State University (UNY) held a coordination activity for the preparation of laboratory and workshop standards with an ISO approach on August 7, 2023. This activity is an important step in an effort to improve laboratory and workshop standards that contribute to improving the quality of education and faculty income.
This coordination activity was carried out online through the Zoom platform and was attended by all relevant parties involved in the preparation of laboratory and workshop standards. The purpose of this meeting is to coordinate the steps and strategies needed in order to achieve standardized laboratory standards with an ISO approach.
The minutes of the activity recorded some of the main points discussed in the coordination meeting:
- UNY has a commitment to increase revenue through the development of laboratories that meet certain standards.
- Resource persons from Balai Kulit attended the event offline (face-to-face), while resource persons from the National Standardization Agency (BSN) attended the event online.
- Registration was conducted for the organizing committee as part of the event preparation.
- The speakers were directed to the WD 1 transit room to prepare for the presentation session.
- The event was hosted by MC Mrs. Bonita.
- After the opening, a group photo session was held as one of the celebratory moments of the event.
- The event started with the singing of Indonesia Raya song as a form of respect to the country.
- Invitations were sent to two types of participants, namely online participants and offline participants (face-to-face). Online participants included Laboratory Coordinators (Koorlab) and non-committee GPMs.
- One 360-degree camera was used to ensure good monitoring of the entire room.
- Internet technical improvement by cooperating with Mas Bambang as an internet technician.
- The location of the event was checked to ensure the smooth running of the meeting.
- Participants are encouraged to share questions or thoughts that can provoke further discussion.
This coordination activity shows the seriousness of the Faculty of Engineering UNY in preparing laboratory and workshop standards in accordance with the ISO approach. This effort is expected to have a positive impact on the quality of education and contribute to the increase in faculty income. With good coordination between related parties, the Faculty of Engineering UNY is getting closer to its goal of achieving high quality standards in the scope of laboratories and workshops.
