Four FT UNY programs achieve ASIIN accreditation 2021

Penjamu FT UNY - The Faculty of Engineering, Yogyakarta State University (FT UNY) again demonstrated the quality of education that has met global standards with 4 study programs consisting of 1 undergraduate program and 3 masters-level study programs accredited by ASIIN. The four study programs are S1-Electronics and Informatics Engineering Education, Masters-Electronics and Informatics Engineering Education, Masters-Electrical Engineering Education, and Masters-Mechanical Engineering Education. "Alhamdulillah. The hard work of the entire team in ensuring the quality of the learning process in these study programs has produced very encouraging results, earning ASIIN accreditation for 2021–2027," said the Dean of FT UNY, Prof. Herman Dwi Surjono, Ph.D. (October 25, 2021).

The achievements of the four study programs are inseparable from UNY's preparation and experience since 2016 in preparing study programs to take part in international accreditation. Furthermore, Herman added that the study programs that are included in international accreditation are adjusted to their track record, such as obtaining an accreditation rating from BAN-PT, the study program's performance in producing quality graduates, the availability of adequate human resources to support the learning process, and several other supporting indicators.

"This achievement is the result of good and synergistic cooperation between the university, faculty, and study program teams in preparing accreditation documents in the form of a self-assessment report (SAR), so knowledge sharing between team members can run effectively and efficiently," explained the Dean of FT UNY.

"In the initial stages of preparation, an FGD was conducted to equalize perceptions of the SAR drafting guidelines. "Thus, the commitment of team members becomes important and strategic in preparing documents in a disciplined and timely manner," explained Herman.

During the visitation, which took place online last July, Herman added that there were no significant obstacles. Minor issues with the network connection and time differences between Yogyakarta and the assessor teams from Germany and Switzerland were encountered. However, all of these processes went smoothly and produced the desired results, which are in line with UNY's efforts in the field of quality education as part of the sustainable development agenda.
