Alignment of Study Program Names on Diplomas and Transcripts in English for International Accreditation pilots

Penjamu FT UNY - The Faculty of Engineering, Yogyakarta State University (FT UNY) held an activity to harmonize the name of the study program on the English version of diplomas and transcripts in preparation for the international accreditation pilot. The activity was held online and offline on Tuesday, October 10, 2023, attended by stakeholders in the faculty.

Preparation for International Accreditation Towards 2024

The Dean of the Faculty of Engineering announced that in 2024, as many as four study programs at FT UNY have prepared themselves for accreditation from ASIIN and are focusing on other globally recognized international accreditations. This is a real step for FT UNY towards international standards in higher education.

The Vice Dean for Academic, Student Affairs, and Cooperation (BAKK) highlighted the alumni's request regarding the equalization of the name of the study program on the diploma with the vacancies for CPNS and P3K. The gap in the name of the study program between these documents can make it difficult for alumni in various administrative processes. He also shared the plan to allocate Faculty funds in 2024 for international visitation and accreditation.

Steps to Align the Name of the Study Program

Study program leaders and academic staff participated in this discussion. Dr. Gunadi, S.Pd., M.Pd., highlighted the changes in study program names over time and emphasized the need to adjust to the latest circular. The first step includes attention from each study program to the differences in naming, followed by a follow-up workshop with the Quality Assurance Center (P2B).

Dyah Styowati Ciptaningrum, S.Pd., M.Ed., Ed.D., gave her views on applying for international accreditation other than ASIIN. She asked each study program to prepare a curriculum that complies with international standards and consider constraints related to funding and equipment that may be asked by assessors.

Challenges and Solutions in the Alignment Process

Regarding the submission of study program names in the CPNS and P3K system connected to PDDIKTI, Dr. Restu Widiatmono, S.Si., M.Si., emphasized the need for immediate changes and stated that the process of changing the name of the study program awaits an official request letter and disposition from WR. Prof. Dr. Ir. Handaru Jati, ST, MM, MT, Ph.D., added that the name writing on the diploma is in accordance with the Yudiwis system, and data management can be integrated with the SKPI and CPL system.

Prof. Dr. Eng. Ir. Didik Nurhadiyanto, ST., MT., IPU, ASEAN gave an example from the Manufacturing Engineering study program which experienced challenges in the number of enthusiasts and recommended changing the name to Mechanical Engineering.
